It’s pretty easy to look at the world, throw your hands up in the air, and just give up. War. Poverty. Disease. Inequity. Racism. Violence. Bigotry. Sexism. You get the idea.
Apathy, however, isn’t a solution. In fact, it is a powerful fuel that drives these issues, entrenching them deeper into society’s fabric.
So what happens when people shrug these things off in a tired and clichéd “boys will be boys” manner? Said boys become entitled men. Their actions become emboldened. The hurts caused bigger. Charlottesville [link to blog one] is sadly only one case in point.
It’s only in standing up, speaking out and pushing back that we are able to stop the behaviours and actions. It is only in being the light, in spreading kindness and love, that we can make the word better. Warmer. More accepting.
